This outside bird washer can be used in kill & defeathering lines just before scalding. You can clean products quickly and thoroughly with this outside bird washer before they enter the scalders.

Depending on the available space in the production line, shackle length, product type (broilers, ducks, turkeys) and/or line manufacturer we have different models to fit your specific situation.

Efficient cleaning

You reduce the dirt load on the first scalder enormously. Especially with electric stunning, excreted fecals can lay on top of the vent skin. Cleaning before the scalder reduces the dirtload in the scalder and results in a steady dirt load to your waste water treatment over the production day. Another effect of a wash down before scalder is that feather packs are already intensively moistened and opened up, which contributes to a more effective scalding and improved final defeathering results. Because the feather package is already wet and open, the scalding process immediately count as effective scalding time with skin – scalding water contact that otherwise are lost. Especially in very thick feathered products. The drain water can either be either be sent to waste water treatment or re-used in crates or module cleaning after a small filtration. After all, this water is still cleaner than your water after half a hour of container or crate cleaning cleaning.

Advice

The standard dimensions of this outside bird washer are 1500 x 660 x 1500 (l x w x h). If you do not have enough space in your existing line, or have different (extra long) shackle lengths, other executions are available. You can also choose to only clean the leg/vent area, outside only or combination of both. The unit can also be connected to hot water to help improving scalding result.
